Bud's
Broiler - New Orleans' Original
|
|
The
first Bud's Broiler was opened in 1952 and is still
operating on City
Park Avenue in New Orleans, LA. Currently,
there are twelve locations serving the New Orleans
area which have catered to many generations of people.
Each location is slightly different than the
other, yet all are bound by a common theme: "High
Quality Meat and Glowing Charcoal Make the Difference".
|
|
|
|
From its inception to the
current day, Bud's Broiler has prepared their food
in a unique way - using genuine charcoal to broil
everything they cook. This simple and traditional
style of cooking gives their food an especially flavorful
taste which is seldom found anywhere else. Preparing
food with charcoal certainly is not the fastest way
to do "fast food", but it is arguably the
best. |
|
Also unique to Bud's Broiler
is their hot dogs and hickory smoked sauce. The
charcoal broiled hot dogs are sliced into three
sections and served on a toasted bun just like the
hamburgers. The hickory smoked sauce is prepared
from a secret recipe and could rival just about
any good BBQ sauce. Do not be surprised if
you find yourself getting attached to their food;
Bud's Broiler could be the very reason so many people
live in New Orleans!

"I'd like a Number
7, no onions." If that statement does
not make much sense to you, then you are probably
not familiar with the Bud's Broiler menu. Die
hard fans of Bud's Broiler can recite the menu from
memory and tell you which number belongs to which
item. If you are not a long term Bud's Broiler
enthusiast, you might want to study
the menu yourself to have an idea of how things
are numbered (and to help you place an order!). |
|
Bud's
Broiler has even had cameo appearances in
the movie industry. If you happen to
be watching the Lions Gate film "Monster's
Ball", you will have a chance to see
the Bud's Broiler on City Park Avenue.
This scene, which appears towards the middle
of the movie, was actually the first one the
crew filmed upon arriving to New Orleans.
The same location also appears in the
Regency film "Runaway Jury".
